Abstract
Recent widely publicised debates about the return of (colonially) looted heritage have furthered the discussions of decolonisation and have changed the discourses surrounding “heritage”. The mapping of other actors in the production and management of heritage, with a growing presence of themes that address “Latinities” and “decolonialities”, has gained greater visibility as new challenges arise. With this volume, we focus on the Latin America and Caribbean context in relation to decolonial practices and cultural heritage. The authors in this volume provide novel theoretical and empirical analyses on a variety of Latin America and the Caribbean cases that are contesting colonial heritage.
