Abstract

The current article points out that hegemony, unilateralism and pre-emptive strike together represent a constant in US foreign policy. The article then examines the flaws of the 'war on terror'. After 9/11 the global environment and the nature of security threats have changed considerably. The paper argues that continuing US unilateralism constitutes a serious threat to American security.
