Retraction Note: Curves with prescribed symmetry and associated representations of mapping class groups (Mathematische Annalen, (2021), 381, (1511–1535), 10.1007/s00208-021-02234-2)

Abstract

The authors have retracted this article after concerns were raised about some of the proofs presented. Specifically, the proofs of Lemmas 1.6 and 1.8 are both incomplete. Since Theorem 1.1 is dependent on these Lemmas, the authors no longer have confidence in the reliability of their results. The authors first reported this error to the journal in December 2021. Both authors agree with this retraction.
