Abstract
Treebanks have become crucial for the development of data-driven approaches
to natural language processing, human language technologies, grammar
extraction, and linguistic research in general. Manifold projects aim at
compiling representative treebanks for specific languages. Other projects focus
on the development of tools for exploration of annotated treebanks, or explore
annotation beyond syntactic structure and beyond single languages.
The Seventh International Workshop on Treebanks and Linguistic Theories
(TLT7) provides a forum for researchers in the field of Computational
Linguistics who are experts in the design, creation and exploitation of
treebanks and their relation to linguistic theories. A selection of 16 workshop
papers is published in these proceedings. Together, they cover a wide range of
topics, including the building, querying, exploring, exploiting and evaluating
of treebanks.
