Abstract
A survey of the function of Songs in Alba Amicorum from the 16th century, usually gathered by women. Many of the Songs betray 'recycling' from earlier texts and/or melodies. Usually the Songs reflect a festive gathering, but as some drawings and texts prove, the atmosphere could easily change into conflictual collisions.
