Abstract
Peak dispersion (i.e. the separation efficiency) in thin-layer electrophoresis was investigated and compared for six different cellulose layers.
The relative importance of longitudinal diffusion and of macroscopic inhomoeneities in the electric field and in the electroosmotic and sucking flow have been assessed.
