Abstract

The γ-radiation produced in the reaction 26Mg (p, y) 27A1 at four resonances (Ep = = 339, 454, 661, and 723 keV) has been investigated with a Nal scintillation spectrometer. Pulse spectra taken at each resonance at angles of = 0° and 6 = 90° to the proton beam were analyzed with a 70-channel Hutchinson-Scarrott kicksorter. More information as to the deexcitation of the resonance levels was obtained from γ−γ coincidence measurements. The following spins are deduced from the experiments: 0.84 MeV: J = (1/2);2.21 MeV: J = (3/2); 2.73 MeV: J = 5/2; 2.98 and/or 3.00 MeV: J = 3/2; 3.68 MeV: J = 1/2; 4.05 MeV: J = 1/2; 8.59 MeV: J = 3/2; 8.70 MeV: J = 1/2; 8.90 MeV: J = 1/2 and 8.96 MeV : J = 3/2.
