Abstract
A considerable part of the comparative work by Professor Hans Stoll is - and in
the future hopefully will be - taken up by questions of liability. Comparative
law has had a major impact on the development of liability law in many countries.
More recently, comparative law has also played a role in paving the way for
harmonisation of liability law. In this essay, I want to explore the contribution
of comparative law to the harmonisation of one particular area of liability law,
e.g. medical liability.
