Synthesis of a bis-(Cyclopentadienyl)lanthanum aryl complex with a pseudofacially, bis(ortho)-chelating aryldiamine ligand. X-ray structure of (h5-C5H5)2La(C6H3{CH2NMe2}2-2,6)

Abstract

Reaction of Cp3La·THF with Li(C6H3{CH2NMe2}2-2,6) in benzene gave the first crystallographically characterized lanthanum aryl complex (5-C5H5)2La(C6H3{CH2NMe2}2-2,6), in which the bis(ortho)-chelating aryldiamine ligand is bound in a pseudofacial 'Cp-like' fashion.
