Abstract
The combustion of coal in power stations produces large quantities of coal fly ash (CFA). At
present, in the Netherlands, this combustion residue is almost completely used for the
production of bUilding materials. Expectations that the present use of CFA would be affected
in the near future by legal and technical developments and by competition with other residual
materials, started an interest in new possible applications. One of these is the synthesis of
zeolites, the subject of this thesis.
