Abstract
The history of Portuguese women's writing in the twentieth century has been defined by, on the one hand, pluralization and dialogic diversification of symbolic expression gendered in the feminine, and, on the other, an articulation of a gynocritical perspective in Portuguese literary and cultural history. My paper follows these interrelated vectors of analysis as it traces the development of feminist perspectives in Portuguese women's poetry since the 1970s through the work of four poets (Luiza Neto Jorge, Maria Teresa Horta, Ana Luísa Amaral and Adília Lopes).
