Abstract
A critical examination is made of the voltage response of a cell when a double-pulse current is applied. The limitations of the double-pulse method for studying fast electrode reactions are considered and it is shown that the maximum value of the heterogeneous rate constant measurable with this method is about 0.5 cm sec−1. In this case the error will be 20%.
