A Farewell to Marcel Storme : Welcome Matthias Storme

Abstract

This is the first issue of the European Review of Private Law which appears without the imprint of Professor Marcel Storme, with whom I shared the privilege of founding this review in the early 1990s. Marcel always carefully saw to the linguistic equality in ERPL. He could not help it that English has gradually succeeded in de facto becoming our first language. Abstracts in the two other languages however are something he would always insist on. Marcel was our link with the world of civil procedure, where for many years he has chaired the International Association for Procedural Law. We also owe him much for taking care of our finances. Marcel moreover treated us to the gastronomical delights of Ghent.
