Abstract
This paper describes the design and construction of the CLARIN infrastructure, with a focus on the Netherlands part of it. The targeted audience of this paper is humanities researchers: I will try to explain what had to be done behind the scenes to make the CLARIN infrastructure in the Netherlands work.
