Abstract
The energy spectra of the odd-proton nucleides 121, 125Sb, 129, 131I, 143Pr and 147, 149Pm, and of the doubly even nucleides 142Ce, 144Nd and 146Sm are described in terms of the unified model in intermediate coupling. The phonon energy of the core, the coupling strength between phonon excitations and single-particle motion, the single-particle energies and the strength of the residual interaction between the single particles are all considered as free parameters and are determined in a least-squares fitting procedure. With the wave functions thus obtained, electromagnetic (M1 and E2) moments and transition rates are calculated. Effective gs factors are determined in a fitting procedure to known magnetic moments; customary effective charges for neutron and proton are used.
