Abstract
1. 1. The incorporation of 1-14C-acetate into some classes of lipids by Succinea putris L. is investigated.
2. 2. This snail is able to synthesize fatty acids from injected acetate.
3. 3. The acetate is also used for the synthesis of non-saponifiable lipids.
4. 4. The fatty acid composition of these animals is discussed.
