Abstract
The roots of the hydrodynamio matrix for a two species chemically reactive system are obtained under assumptions for which the pressure fluctuations are decoupled from those in entropy and concentration. All roots are affected by the chemical reaction and attention is directed to the implications of the resulting dependence of the roots for the determination of
chemical reaction rates from light scattering spectra.
