Abstract
Ionic conductivity results on PbFCl both parallel and perpendicular to the crystallographic c axis are reported. In conjunction with transference numbers, aliovalent dopant effects, 19F NMR and structural considerations mechanisms governing the ionic conductivity in PbFCl are proposed. Experimental ΔHm values are related with the defect jumps involved. The formation enthalpy for a set of Schottky defects in PbFCl is presented.
