Abstract

This editorial provides an introduction to the special issue on the electrification of the car. This issue contains a selection of five papers that were presented at an international workshop in November 2012. These papers all revolve around the central question: is enough momentum for electric vehicles generated to make this transition happen and what role can public policies play?
