Abstract
This article discusses the blackout initiated by Veem House of Performance in Amsterdam, which has stopped working for 265 days per year as a response to severe budget cuts. Weaving together theoretical debates on (non)work, action and production it points to how spending time ‘in the dark’ generates an energetic field of possibilities to invent (new needs for) the future.
