Abstract
The QuAnGIS project1 builds on fundamental theories of geographic information science (GI), but misses a theory of GI quantities. My PhD project is aimed to address this. Two quantity concepts, amounts and magnitudes, are axiomatized. To better understand the intuition behind them, the notions of extents and intents are investigated.
