Abstract
The luminescence of perovskites with formula Sr1-xPbxLaLiWO6 and Ba2-xPbxMgWO6 is reported. The lower-energy emission in the lead-containing compounds is ascribed to a transition within a centre consisting of a tungstate octahedron with lead-ion neighbours. The presence of Bi3+ is SrLaLiWO6 causes a similar emission.
