Abstract
Three chlorophyll a isomers (a₁, a₂ and a₃) were separated by the chromatography
of Chlorella extracts on paper 1. One of these, chlorophyll (a₃) showed additional
absorption bands at 688 and 455 mμ in diethyl ether. Chromatographic analysis could
not decide whether these bands were due to a₃ or to a minor compound mixed with it.
We investigated the question by exciting the fluorescence of a₃ at different wavelengths.
