Abstract
Samples CaSO4---V5+, Me3+ show mainly unassociated-vanadate emission if Me3+ is smaller than the Ca2+ ion and mainly associated-vanadate emission if Me3+ is about as large as the Ca2+ ion. Samples MgSO4---V5+, Me3+ show efficient yellow emission at room temperature.
