Abstract
In order to transform self-management books into interactive applications on smartphone devices, an analysis is conducted of the book ‘Compassie in je leven: mindfulness verdiepen met heartfulness’ by Frits Koster & Erik van den Brink, published by Boom (Amsterdam). In the report an overview is given of the book, expected user groups, main functionality of the application and some example dialogues. It is concluded that the exercises are extremely complex (over 40 types) of which some have to be offered in particular order, and that, therefore, adherence rates are expected to be very low without additional communication modalities or channels, such as human and smartphone support. Since the report is targeted at Dutch authors and publishers, the report is written in Dutch.
