Na tua face by Vergílio Ferreira: "… towards a new natural order of being"

Abstract

In my paper I will try to demonstrate that Vergílio Ferreira’s novel Na tua face (1993) can be regarded as an accurate construction of doubles that, using an axiology based on indifference, undermines the ‘Vergilian’ novel of the nineties and its epistemological project. This construction can appear quite odd if we consider that it allows the dissolution of the essential couple beauty/ugliness. Na tua face proposes therefore 'a new natural order of being', not only of life but of the author’s narrative project.
