Abstract
Some brands of polyvinyl chlorides interfere with cardiac contraction, whereas other
brands do not. Chemical investigation showed that the stabilizer is most probably responsibie
for the cardiotoxic effect. It is suggested that all types of polyvinyl chloride used for medical
and biological applications should be tested with this technic.
