Subject Agreement-Dependency of Accusative Case in Turkish or Jump-starting Grammatical Machinery

Abstract

A work which argues that there is a link between the presence of subject agreement in a construction and the availability of accusative case in that construction. The empirical domain is various types of nominalization in Turkish. Adopts a cross-linguistic perspective to a certain degree, studying other genealogically related languages, such as Turkmen and Japanese, as well as, to a lesser extent, languages genealogically unrelated to Turkish, such as Quechua and Finnish.
